Summer Fruit Pies

Twists on old favorites make for new classics

No dessert seems to so perfectly represent summer like pie, with its crisp, flaky crust and sweet innards. We’ve referred to pie as boring in the past, and we regret the error. These

pies are not boring. We’ve taken some iconic pies (cherry, mixed berry, peach, and cream) and given them modern twists that are sure to make them new summer traditions. Whether it’s a dash of anise added to the classic berry, peach Melba turned into a streusel-topped pie, or mixing coconut and banana cream for a hard-to-pronounce hybrid (ba-NO-co-nut), there’s something here to keep every pie-lover happy right through Labor Day.
