I like the snack mix and the brownies. The in-between food choices I would trade in for substitutes.

"yet is attractive enough to be proud of (and to give the butterflies something to discuss)"

What does that mean?

I think they are referring to the "social butterflies" from the first paragraph :)

The cheesy dip looks nice, but the artichoke I'm not so sure about. And where the hell are the nachos?! Hotdogs are good... What about some chili?

I gotta say the beans and chard wouldn't fly with my crew. The rest of it is OK......

Try this instead of chard/beans:
Cans of Progresso cannelline beans, drain lightly, add jar of medium supermarket salsa, pinches of cumin. Stir. Add water to make like chili. Heat in pot.
Serve in bowls with side garnish of grated medium cheddar, chopped cilantro, scoops non-fat sour cream, shredded cooked ckicken. It is fast, cheap, tasty and the drones (as opposed to 'butterflies') won't know what hit 'em. They will think you are a gourmet-type genius and day after is even better.

Whoops, I forgot the garlic powder in the above white chicken chili. Silly me. No measurements for the other ingredients: just add them to your taste.

What do you think?
