Chocolate Caramel Apples with Salted Pretzels
Marzipan Caramel Apples with Sesame and Almond
Drooooll.
I feel like the pretzel candy apple would completely destroy your mouth. It would be like biting into a rock covered in broken glass.
I have the recipe for that if anyone is interested.
i'd have a hard time choosing. do i have to?
No, alkapal, no, you don't. I had a group of 7 friends come over last weekend to test all 4 of these recipes and we had an absolute blast making them, and then everyone went home with one of each kind.
This kindof takes "eating your daily allowance of fruit" to a whole new level. I would have no problem eating these "fruits". Thanks for the beautiful pics and great idea for this month
I want to be Jacquilynne's friend....
These are so gorgeously delicious looking. They would make fabulous gifts. Thanks CHOW!
'jonny509' dont' eat these off the stick! the pretzel apple is not hard to eat--once cut in half all of these become very easy to eat and taste out of this world...I consumed all three of these halves after the photo shoot! My fave is the peanut/ peanut butter....maybe because peanut butter on apples is what I ate as a kid...
oh my GOODNESS. what a fantastic spread for fall!!
Great versions! These are knife & fork desserts in my house. We don't want to follow up with a visit to Mr. Dentist...but, they are yummy.
Another way to approve caramel apples is to make the dips and fixins in separate bowls and let the gang dip and dredge big slices of apples as they please.
oops, my bad I meant...another way to APPROACH caramel apples...
How di you get the stuff into the middle of the apples?
I started a thread on the home cooking site last week. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/560104
Basically, you take a melon baller and dig the middle out of the apple, setting aside the first, outside scoop. Then you fill the apple back up with the various stuffings and pop the apple bit that you set aside back in to plug the hole. Once you've dipped them in caramel, the plug is there to stay!
Isnt there another way to get rid of the core without splitting the apple in half? Isnt there a method like hollowing out the bottom and pushing the melon baller up to get rid of the core.. like chefs do with poached pears?
hey, guys. in the recipes, we give you tips for coring the apples: http://www.chow.com/recipes/12220 we found a melon baller to be most effective to remove seeds while keeping the fruit intact.
Yum! I want to make these with miniature apples so I can eat one of each in one sitting. I'm glad it's apple season where I live.
Oh wow. These look delicious!
I bought apples at the farmers' market today, i can't wait to make some of these.
xo
kittee
