When it comes to impressing Mom, effort goes further than excess. So instead of buying her something fancy or fussy, take her out for a spring picnic. This menu is easy to throw together but seems like you slaved away for days. Don’t tell her how quick it was—just use that extra time to hunt down a superspecial card and some ecofriendly picnic ware.
And for another kind of celebration, take a look at our Modern Mother’s Day Tea Party.

Great article. I have been looking for a good picnic menu. I always wonder why fried chicken is always considered picnic food. I can see how it's good eaten cold, but then you have bones to carry out and it's kind of messy on the hands.
I love the colorful beautiful photographs for the mother's day picnic, makes me want to try all the recipes, especially the bean salad!
