Everything depends on the quality of the base wines used for blending. You have no idea of the rockgut (or not) this guy might be using. Can't really say you're playing winemaker because fermenting the wine is critical -- this is merely blending.
Go to a winery whose wines you like and do one of their blending sessions for consumers. Take a pass on this -- don't waste your money.
I agree with maria lorraine- the most elemental aspect of any wine is based on the quality of the grapes involved. You can't make a "great" wine from a kit- you make a great wine from great grapes.
