At the “Top Chef” TableCHOW talks to judge Tom Colicchio and this season’s first casualty |
The second season of Bravo’s Top Chef debuted on Wednesday, with a whole new raft of culinary wannabes vying for a place at the top of the food chain.
CHOW correspondent Joyce Slaton talks to Tom Colicchio about the high- and lowlights from last season, including Dave’s bad behavior (“I’m not your bitch, bitch”) and drunken rowdiness at the reunion. And then she talks to the new season’s first casualty, Suyai Steinhauer, about the agony of escargots and the sting of defeat.

Before listening to Tom Colicchio's podcast, I really didn't like the guy. After hearing his podcast, I was pretty impressed that he is a down to earth kinda guy (Well, as down to earth as someone from New York can be). I was glad to hear that he isn't a part of the episodes production. That block party episode was a joke. A chef shouldn't be judged by what foods he can talk someone into giving you in a Chicago neighborhood. That has nothing to do with being a chef. I felt kinda bad for the guy who made the corn dogs, but I guess he should have known they wouldn't hold up for long without turning soggy.
