good to know

Oft debated, but some say The Nook serves the best jucy lucy in the Twin Cities. Other frequent contenders for the title are Matt’s Bar and the 5-8 Club, both in Minneapolis.

Nevertheless, the Nook’s lucys and burgers are served on fresh bakery buns (from PJ Murphy’s) and the fries are hand-cut (per Pioneer Press, Junly 5, 2007.)

The folks who own and operate The Nook also own and operate the Shamrock (sometimes called “The Irish Nook”) on West 7th in St. Paul.

The Jucy Lucy at this place has too much cheese, IMHO. However, the regular burgers are great. However again, I got their wings, supposedly Monster wings, and have never gotten a smaller portion or size anywhere. I was totally pissed, I won’t stop going there, but I would not be likely to try anything else on the menu again, and will just get water from now on just to get even.
