Holidays in Germany are steeped in iconic traditions that the rest of the world typically admires from afar. At the Black Forest Inn however, Twin Cities’ residents will not have to leave the city limits to take part in the folklore. Delicious meals of goose, sweet treats thick with spices, fruit, nuts and eggs, and hot wine (or Glühwein), and the famous Christmas Markets are parts of the time-honored German Christmas traditions that the Black Forest is bringing to the Twin Cities this year.
From December 6, St. Nicholas Day, to December 31, New Year’s Eve, the Black Forest Inn is holiday central. Events include a shoe drive for Soles for Souls, accordion music, a Christmas Market, Carol Free Wednesdays and a Gypsy-themed New Year’s Eve party. Holiday food includes goose, roast pork, Stollen and specialty Christmas cookies. Bring the whole family!
