»Very odd
Friday night at 7pm and only six tables are there for service. Two hours later there are three and I think one was stuck there talking to the staff that stood with them during their entire meal.

Friday night at 7pm and only six tables are there for service. Two hours later there are three and I think one was stuck there talking to the staff that stood with them during their entire meal.
I am not sure I would go for a special dinner like my husband and I did. I honestly don't know what to think of this place.
Starters were good. I had the Blackened Scallops with a Tequila creme fraiche sauce. I expected some spice but there was none. It was good just not what I thought. My husband had steamed clams which had andouille sausage. He enjoyed it very much.
For our entrees my husband had the spice crusted tuna and I had the one pot menage. The tuna was cooked perfectly and was really tasty when hubby shared it with me. My dish was sort of disappointing. The little dish they serve it in was roasting hot. The shrimp and sausage was over cooked, rice was undercooked. By the time the little bowl cooled down it finished cooking the rice but managed to ruin the clams that were the only thing cooked well in the dish. It was a chewing work out for sure and our waitress was no where to be seen. Also I expected some sort of spice. Nothing. Not even salt. I relieved when my husband agreed it was very bland.
If you go to the website you will see this parsley and purple "nest" garnish. It's on every dish. My daughter said when she went earlier this summer with her boyfriend it was on their dishes too and they were trying to figure out what the heck it was. The chef must really love it.
The worst part for my husband was the staff member who was standing and talking about everything she could to the couple next to us saw what my husband ordered and then went into a rant about how much she hates Tuna cooked that way and how it makes her gag and so on very loudly. I know I didn't need to know so much about her personal life on top of what she makes her gag.
For dessert my husband had a creme brulee which was really good. I had a chocolate lava cake with a raspberry coulis and we both had espresso. Not sure if they actually make those but they were good.
I have to say the plating was beautiful. It wasn't all bad but it was such an odd night. A gentleman behind us had to be carried out he was so drunk. The bar was full when we left but the dinner service was clearly slow and the kitchen staff was sneaking out to the bar.
Maybe we went on an off night. I am not sure but there was nothing there to wow me or make me want to go back beyond a curiosity to see if it would be different.-COLLAPSE
