To call this jewel hidden behind a deli a "hole in the wall" would not do it justice. About 10 tables upstairs and 3 downstairs comprise this little slice of heaven.

Do not go here without an appetite. Our waitress warned us that if we hadn't been there before, we should not order an appetizer because each main course is huge and comes with what amounts to (for me) an entree size pasta dish. I had the halibut in a spicy and surprisingly sophisticated sauce with a "side" of gnocchi. Both were excellent. I believe the gnocchi, unlike some of the pasta, was not made on site, but it didn't matter. Whoever they got it from knew what they were doing.
Others had veal and chicken. Some had pasta made on the premises, which I did get to taste and liked as much as the gnocchi..
I was a bit sorry that we didn't have room for an appetizer. There is a huge antipasto bar that would be more than enough for dinner. I'll have that next time.
While it's probably not going to win international acclaim for its food, the value was astonishing. The bill for 10 of us , including two bottles of wine and tip, was around $300.
I would not necessarily recommend this place for an intimate date, but it's excellent for parties of between 4 and 10 people. Just make sure to make a reservation!-COLLAPSE
