The restaurant staff did a remarkable job to accommodate our table, allowing me to order the tasting menu and my friends to order a la carte. The timing difference made the staff's work more difficult, but they pulled it off superbly (this was while the dining room was almost full capacity). We dined like queens for nearly 4 hours. By the time we left, it was almost time for dinner service.

The food was fantastic as always. What a wonderful establishment this is!

By the way, Tocqueville now offers Périgord black truffles shaved on top of fettuccine or potato gnocchi. The appetizer-size price is $50, and entree-size price is $80. If you order the tasting menu, the black truffles are available for a $20 supplement.

Thanks Hounds! We wound up at Toqueville and had a delicious, and perhaps more importantly, delightful, lunch. The room is so pretty, the staff was so friendly and unpretentious, and the food was gorgeous. Loved everything about it, including that you can be completely happy with the prix fixe lunch - which is a GREAT deal- or go deeper to the pocket, or mix it up a bit. I agree with Cherryvisage's Jung Sik suggestion. But I would also highly recommend Tocqueville. Their 5-course tasting is $110, and the 7-course is $125. We did the 5-course at lunch in October.

They also offer an a la carte menu. When we were there for dinner two weeks ago, we ordered from that menu.

We were just at Tocqueville for dinner last week. I hadn't had the scallops and foie gras in two years. As wonderful as ever! We both started with the Sashimi and Tartar of Blue Fin Tuna, which was fantastic.

The Angelhair with Sea Urchin and the Scallops with Seared Foie Gras are considered signature dishes. There's also a Poached Egg and Polenta dish that I hear is also fantastic. REPLY (21 Replies) (by Cheeryvisage, created December 27, 2011)

Tocqueville. One of our favorites. We did a tasting menu at lunch in October. Stellar!
