Ok food but not to my liking. one in bklyn Fulton and franklyn which was good, it was ok till I could get to my two sisters houses of a good home cook meal that live in NJ. And one more in manhattan by Roseland which has also closed down . I was please to out there was a new Liberian Resturant in Queens when I google it. (thank you google and chowhound) I readed the posts on chowhound and was impress and wanted go and see for my self .but I was home sick and could not come out,so I ask my wife to stop by and pick me something to eat. I had the fish Gravy and Pepper Soup and Fufu. The food was great Pepper Soup and Fufu made me feel like I was at my sisters house eating a home cook meal, so the next day I went back but had to try the cassava leaf which is my favorite Liberian dish, but they only had plam butter, I like plam butter but not from a can and that's all they had so I tried it and to my surprise it was great I couldnt believe who good it was I couldn't tell the difference. So now, I still have to try the cassava leaf my wife was in Qns Saturday so she bought home two order of cassava leaf home for me. Heavenly that's all I can say !!!! As long as mamai's is standing I will be coming to you for my cassava leaf ,as I write this now my wife is picking me up two order now !!!!!-COLLAPSE

I went on Saturday at 7pm and was almost heartbroken. When my friend and I walked in, the hostess just stared at us from across the room for several moments. Finally, I approached her and asked if we may dine there. She replied 'no' and that she was completely out of food. It was a very odd exchange, considering that there were 3 other diners with copious amounts of food. My friend wanted to leave, but I was frozen with incomprehensibility. I expressed my disappointment to the lady, stressing that I had trekked all the way from Woodside in the downpour. Finally, she divulged that she only had fufu. I replied that I'd love to try the fufu, as long as she could arrange for some soup to accompany it. She finally cracked a smile and said 'of course.'
We were served just one order of fufu with what I presume is the pepper soup, along with a side plate of sesame powder, two okras and a scotch bonnet. As others have noted, it was fantastic. My lips were on fire through most of the meal. I had assumed it was from the soup and scotch bonnet, but it was actually due to the power of the ginger beer.
It's probably best to visit this place for lunch or a very early dinner, so that more choices are available. One thing that hasn't been pointed out is that they seem to have a set menu for each day. Here's what I gathered:
Mon
Collard greens
Fish gravy and chuck rice
Tue
Spinach
Palm butter
Wed
Cassava leaf
Eggplant
Thu
Careless green (leaf of calaloo plant)
Plava sauce
Fri
Seafood day (a changing selection)
Fried okra
Palm butter
Sat
Fufu & soup (can also be served with pepper soup, okra, palva sauce or palm butter)
Cassava leaf
Sun
Potatoes green
Cabbage
Toborge (seed of the kititle plant)-COLLAPSE
