good to know

A handful of respected chefs from San Francisco started a pop up restaurant in the private dining room above the old restaurant and bar, Bruno’s in the Mission. There are 35 seats, and it’s by reservation only. The vibe is Sinatra-era, with all the guys dressed in vests and ties, and the women in little black dresses. The limited menu is a little pricey, but good: old-school dishes like chopped salad, filet mignon for two with creamed spinach and roast potatoes, Oysters Rockefeller, martinis, etc. Their first night was May 7th, and they had forgotten to serve coffee. There was an Alice Waters sighting. Read about the opening on Tablehopper: :http://www.tablehopper.com/newsletter/current.html
