good to know
There are many good restaurants in Bangkok and some that are advertised to be good but are not. It’s hard to know the difference until after you’ve already wasted your time and money in one of them so here’s a quick heads up about a place to avoid. It’s called Tenderloin’s and it’s located on Sukhumvit Soi 33 in the middle of one of Bangkok’s infamous red light districts. Not a really smart place to locate a restaurant, especially if you want anyone to bring their wife or family but that’s where they are.
Their menu claims to have imported beef but it seems like it’s local beef which is generally far inferior to either Australian or American beef. The prices are high like imported beef prices, however, but the quality just isn’t the same. The service is pretty bad so make sure you leave plenty of time for eating if you go here. Our meals took about a half hour to come out and the place was almost empty. It’s no wonder. The place apparently used to be pretty good from reports that we heard but there’s been a change in ownership recently so that’s probably what the problem is. Don’t waste your time or money here. There are too many other places in Bangkok that are good.
