The french toast/pancake options have gotten even nuttier at Shopsin's. They keep changing the menu, I can't keep up! Now there's carbonara (bacon, ham, pasta, pecorino) pancakes and also mac’n cheese and fried chicken pancakes.

Thanks for all the suggestions, folks.

Ok, i officially am in love with Kenny Shopsin. What a meal. We got the original slutty cakes, which were amazing as always. My friend ordered the Bingo, which I protested, but wound up loving. Who would ever think of putting brussels sprouts on a sandwich? But the real winner was the Harpo Blisters on My Sisters. That was revelatory, just incredible. I...+READ

I love the earthy, almost crude quality of Kenny's creations, and that dish typified that perfectly. Kale, caramelized onions, brussels sprouts, eggs and cheese. I wished I didn't have to share! The one clinker for me was the Castles. The thick scrambled eggs detracted from the slider for me and it just did nothing for me. Though I want to have the sliders with onions some other time.

I do want to try the Jihad Boy, and the Mo 'Jemima. And everything else on the menu!!-COLLAPSE

I would probably do:
1. Sliders with carmelized onions
2. Glazed maple donuts
3. Mac and cheese pancakes (though if you're my husband, you get the Capt'n J or Mo'Jemima)
4. one of the Petes

I haven't been as impressed with the Blisters on My Sisters, but if sounds good to you, that could be something for your fourth dish, swapped out for the Pete.

Today's order:

1/2 order of Swine Blues pancakes
Sliders with carmelized onions
Cap'n J -- fried chicken, scrambled eggs, two mac and jack pancakes

The swine blues pancakes are bacon and blueberry, which a bit of an odd combination, but tasty. The berries do taste a bit savory in this context. I noticed they use the small wild blueberries, and give you a ton in the batter. Sliders were...+READ

The swine blues pancakes are bacon and blueberry, which a bit of an odd combination, but tasty. The berries do taste a bit savory in this context. I noticed they use the small wild blueberries, and give you a ton in the batter. Sliders were magnificent, as usual. Cap'n J was delicious and huge! Unfinishable. I love the way the melted cheese from the two giant macaroni and jack pancakes get crispy on the edges. Delicious with a bite of scrambled egg, fried chicken, and lots of real maple syrup (grade A, dark) and their housemade hot sauce. Mmmmm.-COLLAPSE

I took my seventeen year old son to Shopsin's two weeks ago, on a Saturday morning. We arrived as they were opening, were seated. and had a nice breakfast. No odd happenings that morning at all. Just a nice breakfast, good...+READ I took my seventeen year old son to Shopsin's two weeks ago, on a Saturday morning. Today's order:

Mr. Mention: jerk oxtail, chorizo chili mac, cheddar scrambled eggs, toast
H18: duck blisters on my sisters, maple donuts, chili mac

Chili mac was only OK but the jerk oxtail served on the bone was fantastic. I liked the duck blisters on my sisters but I probably wouldn't get it again. The maple donuts stole the show. Hot, fluffy, gooey, sweet rings of deliciousness!
