good to know

From the minute you walk in the door you know you are in for a treat, the atmosphere, the welcome just everything is Scottish without the usual over the top decor you get with most themed bars. This has been done very very well with thought and knowledge behind it and you can tell. The beer selection is extensive and they offer a full bar. The food is just amazing, home cooking at its best and with prices to match. Yes its Vermont and USA outside the door but inside you might as well be across the Atlantic. I am eternally grateful to a friend who let me know this place existed, I will most certainly be back on a regular basis.

»Cozy and welcoming, family friendly!

From the scrumptious peanut-butter pie to the warm smiles, I could sit in here forever. Sorry to hear that "catnip" had a bad experience; perhaps someone had an "off" night or they were short-handed ~ I urge "catnip" to go back and try it again sometime. (by Kelly Stettner, created April 27, 2010)

My husband and I have eaten here several times now and have enjoyed every meal we've eaten. He's fond of the haggis and I love the chicken pie. My favorite beer so far is the smooth Bellhaven. Going back this weekend for another tall one and to try something I haven't had yet. Small place, friendly owner, and nice staff. Haven't experienced what catnip has; sorry they didn't have a nicer outcome. (by Cindy Hill Beaulieu, created February 9, 2010)

This has to be one of the worst taverns I've ever been to.
Several of us sat at the bar while the bartender was doing housekeeping chores.
After about 10 minutes,a minute before we were getting ready to leave,he came over and in a grumpy way asked us what we wanted.
We ordered and he poured beer for us and he vanished.
We finished the beer, which was very good, but no barrtender was in sight .

We finished the beer, which was very good, but no barrtender was in sight .
About 5 minutes later he came back and still in his grumpy mood ,asked us if we wanted anything else.
We were so glad to pay up and get out of there.
No personality in a bartender is virtually unheard of any place we've ever been.
Two other couples came in while we were there, they sat down, they waited and they waited, and then they got up and left with no service from this old coot.
I've never seen such ppor service in any tavern in my life and this old fellow and this restaurant is constantly the butt of jokes when we get together at other places.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.-COLLAPSE
