Durant’s is a true Phoenix institution, open for over 50 years and still going strong. Park in the back, and enter through the back door into the kitchen.

@Da Beebz - Thanks! I've been missing being able to walk to Sam La Grassa's for pastrami when we lived in Boston, so happy to find a spot for pastrami here.
@exit2lef - Will definitely check out Downtown Deli. Also, thanks for your help in planning our itinerary and the closest Light Rail stops. Our first time taking the Light Rail around town, and your website was invaluable.

For ambiance for a special occasion, two of our favorites are Durant's (vintage, classic old school) and J&G Steakhouse (modern, fabulous view). REPLY (22 Replies)
Me too. When we Iived in Boston and used to take weekend trips to the casinos in CT, I would order the bone-in ribeye with a side of lobster mashed potatoes at Michael Jordan's.
And to keep this local, love the bone-in ribeye at Durant's too.
