Plain decor, friendly but unpolished service. Stick with the Sichuan food; this is not the place to go for lemon chicken or sweet & sour pork. This place, unlike many, is unafraid to use brown peppercorns (a.k.a. prickly ash) the spice that gives Sichuan food its tingly numbing quality, in abundance. The result is food that has real “down home” taste—if home is one of China’s western provinces.
