good to know

The bar was handcrafted in Petersham, MA by John Sammis, a Master Craftsman. It is made entirely out of sustainable South African mahogany.

The beer selection will feature 22 Rotating Craft Draughts (6 dedicated to Belgian), 1 Cask, Over 120 Unusual Bottles (70+ of which will be Belgian), and will include some of the rarest beers on the planet.

The menu will change often, especially with the seasons. They aim to utilize locally grown produce and livestock from farms across New England whenever possible.

The Farmhouse style menu will feature SLOW food, including: farmstead cheeses from New England and beyond; artisan baked breads, farm fresh salads, small plates, sandwiches, and hearth baked rustic pizzas.

They offer a small yet eclectic list of wines and a collection of handcrafted spirits from artisan distilleries located in New England and from around the world.

Reasonably priced but some of the beers can be expensive.-COLLAPSE / REPLY (9 Replies) (by dotscorp, created November 27, 2011)

The food:
Starter: Mediterranean Platter was phenomenal. Warm, homemade bread, pita, hummus (a little chunky even), serrano(?) ham, olives, baked sweet almonds, greens, homemade feta cheese, olive oil...could've just had that for dinner.
Dinner: 1. Grilled Cheese sandwich with fig and caramelized onion - probably the best grilled cheese I've had in my short 21 year old lifetime.
2. Roast Beef sandwich with homemade horseradish mayo and spinach, on homemade cheese focaccia - I guess I should mention they bake all their bread and pastries at the bakery, Crust, soon to open to the public as a stand-alone shop as well. Classic sandwich done very well, the bread and mayo made it perfect.

Love how majority of the the produce, meat, cheese, ok really everything, is bought local.
Look forward to trying their brunch and many, many other beers.
Highly recommend if in the area for lunch or dinner. I'd say semi-pricey but well well worth it.-COLLAPSE

»great food, bad service

3 stars

The food here is fantastic and I am a huge beer lover and have never been disappointed with the selection. The service, however, is terrible. It's always slow, even when the restaurant is empty. Nonetheless, I love the food so I put up with it. (by kim314, created March 7, 2010)
