»Ice cream, donuts, dumplings and Incanto (a trip to SF from NYC)
A too brief whirl through the Bay Area, and I'm ready to trash-talk NYC places...wow S.F.!
DYNAMO DONUT is incredible, and wins against our local Doughnut Plant. The flavors are clean and smart, no over sweetness or oily taste. Love love LOVE. Favorites: spiced chocolate, maple apple bacon, lemon-thyme.

HUMPHRY SLOCOMBE ice cream is another wonder. Strauss organic milk, great texture (no ice crystal problems, which plague other places) - whatever their style is, I love it. (Didn't go to Bi-Rite or the others, so this is not a comparison.) The Vietnamese Coffee flavor is my favorite - I love coffee ice cream. The Thai Chili Mango is genius - super bright and balanced. The vanilla was too vanilla-y for me, and although I can see the appeal of Secret Breakfast, I don't love bourbon in my desserts. If I wanted a vanilla-like flavor, I'd get the olive oil which was deeeelicious. The hot fudge sauce is great - super dark, tastes salty to me, fabulous. I almost got a t-shirt it was so good...
SHANGHAI DUMPLING KING great gingery pork dumplings and all the other usuals. Nice thin skins, balanced flavors, I'd like to try more of their menu.
INCANTO reminded me a lot of Al Di La in Brooklyn, but with foie. I had a fresh pappardelle with trotters and foie, forget what my friends ate but it was all good. The mortadella on the salumi plate is particularly delicious. Happy to report a late dinner walk-in on a weeknight is no problem.
BAKESALE BETTY okay fried chicken sandwich...the slaw is nice (crunchy, oniony, cilanto) but it didn't come anywhere near to rocking my world.-COLLAPSE

Totally disappointing. Not flavorful, except for the bit of topping. Slightly bread-y in texture. Not a fan. Tried the chocolate spice, banana dulce de leche, coconut, strawberry, and chocolate passionfruit.
»Great Donut but a Bit Spendy
These donuts are incredible, however they are a bit pricey.
»Totally delicious & unusual, if not my perfect 'donut'
These donuts are great, really unusual/interesting flavors, and very very tasty. If I compare them to a danish or a piece of coffee cake, they shine and I'd pick them any day. But if I compare them to a krispy kreme donut, I'd choose the krispy kreme, just because that's what i'm looking for when i'm craving the taste/comfort/memories I associate with donuts. »Bacon Maple Donut
Finally made my way to Dynamo Donuts again yesterday and snagged the last bacon maple donut. I'd been wanting to try this ever since I first hear about it. It was a delicious donut, but I actually think it could use more bacon. It was basically just a maple donut with a sprinkling of bacon bits on it. Not sure if they use any bacon fat anywhere else in the donut. The star anise chocolate donute I...+READ Finally made my way to Dynamo Donuts again yesterday and snagged the last bacon maple donut.
