The first restaurant ever owned on operated by Ed LaDou, Wolfgang Puck’s first pizza chef at Spago, who also wrote the menu for California Pizza Kitchen.
He is the Alice Waters of pizza, and what is coming out of his pizza oven is better than his previous two kitchens, and IMHO the best pie in southern California.
And the rest of his menu is worth recommending as well.

We ate at Caioti Pizza on Sunday -- god, what a disappointment. I use to go there all the time and it was really wonderful. But the porcini pizza we had on Sunday was absolutely disgusting. The Antiqua was almost as bad. Has anyone noticed that the quality has gone down? I heard that the owner recently passed away -- maybe this has something to do with it . . . REPLY (124 Replies)
I was just at Caioti Pizza Cafe about a week ago for a similar reason. I wanted to eat someplace close to Universal Studios that wasn't in Universal CityWalk. For me Caioti fit the bill perfect for a nearby casual lunch before hitting CityWalk. REPLY (8 Replies)
