good to know
Corso is a second restaurant for the owners of Rivoli. The menu, which includes pizza and salumi made in-house by Chef Rodrigo da Silva, is influenced by the rustic cuisine of Florence.

I want to like this restaurant--but in five visits it has been hit or miss, unfortunately with more of the misses coming in the past two visits. Some dishes are very good and authentically Italian. On one visit though, a pasta came so lightly sauced that it really didn't have much flavor (and I know that Italians do not like their pasta dishes heavily sauced, but this was almost dry). I asked nicely if they would give me a little more of the seafood and chickpea sauce, and the server told me that this was how it was supposed to be, but he took it back to the cook, who after a brief discussion with the server actually came over to the counter and stared at me! The server finally brought my plate back with a bit more sauce, telling me the cook hadn't been very happy. So I had my nice bowl of pasta but I was embarrassed.
I probably would not have gone back, but I have friends who wanted to try the place. We had a very good pasta, but the other specials didn't seem very Italian (such as a duck in a port or madeira sauce).
Our server this time was a woman who did not smile once, and seemed put out by how long it took the six of us to order, and could not really give us any guidance. She was fairly efficient at least.
A meal here can become quite expensive-- most dishes are served a la carte, and the sides are pricey. So by the time two people have spent well over a hundred dollars (including a glass of wine each and dessert) you have to consider what your experience might be at a similarly priced restaurant. Overall, the ambiance is casual, the service ranges from fairly friendly to fairly indifferent (except for the very cordial host, or maybe he is the manager), and the quality of the food is usually good, but expensive. Since they have taken our very favorite item off the menu (the white pizza with truffle oil) I am not sure we will go back.-COLLAPSE
