So I had to go to Basta Pasta to compare. We ordered a few appetizers which were ok but nothing memorable. We also ordered the pastas - the uni and the bolognese. Both were unimpressive. Greenwich Grill not only has much better food but the atmosphere is nicer and the service is professional. For a even more affordable Japanese Italian, go to Tribercafe on Church St. It opened early this year. The pastas are all delicious and are all under $10! Basta Pasta was a disappointment.-COLLAPSE / REPLY (15 Replies) (by wadawada, created June 25, 2010)

I have never seen so many heavy smokers working in one restaurant. Forbidden to smoke directly in front of the restaurant, chefs and waiters can be seen smoking in front of their neighbors' buildings all day and all evening. The menu looks like something from an airport layover hotel- a bit of this and a bit of that. From what we hear the food is overpriced and dull and non-Japanese get treated...+READ I have never seen so many heavy smokers working in one restaurant.
