The creamery, opened 1997, is located at Tomales Bay Foods, a restored barn. Cowgirl produces organic cheeses.
In addition to Cowgirl cheeses there are other local cheeses as well as some from other parts of the US and many European choices as well. All sourced from small-scale producers, these cheeses are all offered to sample before you buy.
Cowgirl Cantina is a gourmet deli and wine shop, and the barn has additional shops with local produce and other picnic supplies such as charcuteries, condiments, preserves, oils, sweets, and desserts.
The cheese making process can be viewed through a glassed-in window. Tours are held every Friday at 11:30 a.m. The tour consists of a 25-minute presentation, followed by a tasting of Cowgirl Creamery cheeses. The charge for the tour is $3 per person and reservations are recommended
