good to know

Authentic Gelato and Fresh Fruit Sorbetto

The two most important aspects of gelato are freshness and quality. That is why all our ingredients, with the exception of dairy, sugar and fresh fruit, are imported directly from Milan. We produce our gelato freshly everyday to ensure the creamiest and highest standards for our product. Our strict adherence to these standards is evident in our creations. For instance, our coconut gelato is made from coconut straight from the shell and our lemon sorbetto is made from lemon juice we squeeze every morning.

Tutto Amore: About Us

Tutto Amore is the American brand of Parados Gelateria (www.gelateria.com). Parados is a family business and was founded by Giordano Mauri in 1965. Giordano’s eldest son, Marcello Mauri, has been commissioned to bring Parados’ product to America. Marcello has spent the last 14 years immersed in the gelato industry, even studying the science behind gelato and winning awards in the decorating of it. Business partner Tim Lin is a native of Los Angeles and was previously the production manager at a gelateria in Berkeley as well as the owner of a wholesale bakery in San Francisco.

Nutritional Information

While premium American-style ice cream can have anywhere from 13% - 17% fat, our gelato has a fat content that ranges between 8% - 10%. The difference is that gelato is made with milk rather than cream. A small cup of our most basic flavor, Fior di Latte, has approximately the calorie equivalent of a banana or a tall glass of milk. The second difference between gelato and ice cream is its air content. Air gets whipped into ice cream as it churns much in the same way cream becomes whipped cream. Gelato, however, because it is made with milk rather than cream, does not expand. The high density of gelato allows for a higher intensity of flavor per bite. For this reason, high quality but subtle flavors like hazelnut and tiramisu are available to you in gelato but not in ice cream. To put it simply, gelato is healthier, tastier and creamier.
