quick reviews (4 Reviews)
I typically get mine at New May Wah on Clement. There is another Chinese seafood market on the same side of the street about another block east that takes cash only and is sometimes more competative. REPLY (13 Replies)
Whole pigs are more expensive by the pound the smaller they get, especially when they are in the suckling pig category (+/- 30 lbs). If you know anyone with a business or non-profit license you can pre-order 50-lb pigs from Restaurant Depot for around $2.50/lb.
Another option may be trying New May Wah on Clement.

The picnic is the shank end of the shoulder, which averages about 5-lbs. I'll second the New May Wah rec, as they will cut to order if you know exactly what you are looking for. Safeway and Lucky's has them on sale from time to time. REPLY (9 Replies)
Unfortunately going to the source is no guarantee. Had a few jumbos (3lb+) from Bodega Bay last night and they were very disappointing. Nowhere near as sweet and tasty as the ones I got from New May Wah a few weeks ago. REPLY (143 Replies)
