»DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE.
Had a terrible dining experience here last year, still annoyed about it. The pizza crust is not even pizza crust. Go down the street to Angeli Caffe, half the price and just a good without the pretentiousness. I know LA pizza is supposed to be different but that does not mean it has to be bad. Do not fool yourself into believing this is good food.
That crispy pata has been on my list for too long. My favorite pork prep is the Porchetta Panino from Mozza to go (I believe it's not available in the pizzeria or the osteria, just the "to go" shop). The porchetta is definitely on my short list of best things I've ever eaten. The rub is perfect, fennel pollin, maybe some sage... so tasty. The pork is so darn moist -- I guess that's what happens when you wrap a lean cut with luscious fatty belly. And the shattering crackly crunch of the skin that surrounds the whole thing --it's a taste and textural party in my mouth. Having all that rich delish crammed in between nancy silverton's amazing bread, heaven!-COLLAPSE / REPLY (67 Replies)

The pizza is by far the best I ever had and the most authentic. Reservations for a table is HIGHLY recomended because this place will get packed. Seating at the bar is available but requires at least a 1 hour wait. It is best to order everything in one order because you could be waiting even longer for your food. I recomend the bone marrow and meatballs for a good starter. :)
»Love these pizzas!!!

»Happy entering Pizzeria Mozza....so satisfied when leaving.
Greetings fellow Chowhounds,
Another enjoyable evening for us last night at Pizzeria Mozza. We had the Butternut Squash Bruschette with applewood smoked bacon and bitter greens, tri-color salad, and of course utterly fabulous pizzas.

I guess I will find out if I've posted in the right area of Chow or not.....I have a particular question....is anyone out there privy to the recipe for the aforementioned Bruschette? I would give anything to prepare and devour this dish in our home.
Cheers,

I love pizza and I hate hype. Went here few days ago and waited an hour to get a seat. The Pizza was crazy good. The crust was light, crispy and flavorful. The sauce was light and so tasty. The meat was aromatic and fresh. One of if not the best pizza I had. There's no hype here, just great pizza. FYI, the coleslaw is nuts. have to try it.
