History/Atmosphere: It actually used to be located off of South Congress a few years ago and was more of an upscale American Bistro-isque place. It closed and re-opened as a BBQ place downtown in the warehouse district. The restaurant is in a historic building that is attached to the larger CSC buildings...luckily they saved this building unlike the famed Liberty Lunch. The restaurant is 2 stories with the “restaurant part” downtown stairs with a semi-open kitchen and a patio outside. The bar is upstairs with just a few booths and a handful of tail tables. Good atmosphere, although it is a little on the loud side. It is casual —- but not shorts and t-shirts however, you could get away with it during lunch time. In the evening, going-out clothes or nice jeans with a nice shirt would be completely fine. It would be good for a family lunch with kids 8 or older and leave the kids with a sitter for the night time.
Food: It’s upscale BBQ.
If you are going for dinner make reservations*Good stuff is on the bar menu, which for their serving size offers plenty of food. (no reservations taken for the bar area)
Recommended from bar menu: Frito Pie, Achiote Seared Chickpeas, Spicy Deviled Eggs, the Beer Battered Rock Shrimp, and the Green Chili Queso.
Recommended for Lunch and dinner: Pulled Cuban and the Chopped Beef sandwiches.
