We went and it was like a parade of fat. The fried green tomatoes were really good, especially the pickled red pepper relish accompanying. The beet salad was interesting, though the giant avocado half became monotonous, and the dish begged for some other layer of flavor. The salad was a plate of romaine with a little bit of red wine vinaigrette with some cheese sprinkled on - nothing more. The shrimp and grits were absurdly rich, as whole cream flavor was gushing from the grits (try Crooks to see how it is supposed to be done), and the pork belly on warm potato salad was essentially an $18 plate of fat. I got 10 bites of meat and a few potato cubes salvaged from a plate that was a 1/4" pool of fat. It was like cooking 5 strips of soggy bacon then drinking all of that fat that came off of it. Our chocolate dessert was served with a dollop of SOUR cream. Oh..but everything is "organic", so it is healthy.
24 hours afterward I am still burned up about this $100 meal. This isn't, by a long shot, Raleigh's best.-COLLAPSE

Chef Ashley Christianson works wonders with local ingredients. This place is not to be missed. It is Raleigh's best. Ashley is a master of simple, elegant dishes crammed with flavor. The menu changes with availability, so its posted on chalk boards. A local treasure!
