Yikes!! I was a RELIGIOUS patron of Beccofino until the day they opened up until October of this year. I first noticed around mid-October that their pappardelle bolognese tasted differently and their other pastas were more goopy than usual. The decline in the pappardelle was a bad sign because it was such a simple dish but OUTSTANDING in its simplicity. Now it tastes boring and wierd.

What I loved about the food at Beccos was that they didn't fall into the trap of being a suburban italian place that drowns their pastas in sauce. The food was delicate and had different interesting flavors on their regular menu and in their specials.
The incident where i almost lost my mind was when my husband ordered risotto.. which used to be a standard great item on the specials. It was SWIMMING in goop. that is NOT risotto.
I also noticed that their longtime manager has since left since around the same time the food started to (i hate to say it).. kind of suck.
I don't know if it's a coincidence.. but she certainly did have a taste for good food.
This turn of events has completely bummed me out as beccos used to be the place we would go to celebrate.. or to bring our friends and family to show off our great neighborhood italian restaurant. I'm sure it won't stop hurting for customers since it is still probably the decentest of all North Riverdale restaurants. I'm just sad to say we lost our one really good restaurant to mediocrity.-COLLAPSE
