good to know

Ferry Plaza Seafood offers fresh fish, prepared items and a place to have lunch or a light dinner.

The 16-seat Italian marble counter provides a view of the bay. Shellfish, cracked crab, chowders, seafood salads and seafood cocktails are on the menu. All produce comes from Marketplace merchants and the wine list is designed with selections available at Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant. Take-out is available.

The other half of the shop is a long fish counter. There is seasonal catch from local boats as well as fish from world suppliers. Prepared items include crab cioppino, salmon roasts, stuffed clams and more.

»Great location, ambiance and taste!

5 stars

We were looking for 'The Beat Clam Chowder' in San Francisco and may have found it. Great place with lots of ferry ambiance, a great view, and best of all good food! The service was not excellent, but that seemed appropriate to the location. Sourdough and Caesar salad were great too! (by Ronald 'Ron' J. Ellis, created July 31, 2010)
