My fiance were in town and stumbled across Crumbs. We decided to splurge and pick up a few cupcakes to bring home (train ride to Albany) that day. The presentation was great and so was the selection. The cupcakes, however, were very underwhelming. We chose four: an espresso, red velvet, carrot and some super dark chocolate thing with pudding in the middle. We chose four: an espresso, red velvet, carrot and some super dark chocolate thing with pudding in the middle. The red velvet was downright stale (dry) and almost inedible. My fiance said the espresso and chocolate were pretty much along the same lines. The only one that was good (not great) was the carrot.
I'm not someone who splurges on sweets very often, so when I do there is an expectation (hope?) that they are worth it. Despite the friendly staff and great selection, I can honestly say that you would be missing NOTHING by skipping this stop.-COLLAPSE (by smartypants68, updated November 14, 2009)
