It's definitely one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco. It's so solidly good. You know every dish on the menu is good, and the service will be good, and the drinks will be fantastic. It's reliable, is what I'm trying to say. I've never had a bad meal there, and it seems very worth the money you spend for dinner. (by mudaba, updated October 7, 2009)

Some of the other highly acclaimed restaurants in the city are so formal and stuffy. Range isn't exactly casual, but it feels loose, fun. Rat Pack Modern decor, cozy bar, unassuming Mission location, and fabulous, fabulous food. Sit at the bar for an even more informal meal. Great tails, too. (by chesterg, updated October 5, 2009)
