There was the gritty taste of dirt on the spinach leaves. The Shaking Beef was grisly and overcooked to within an inch of becoming rawhide. Even my beloved Claypot Chicken was bland and flat with chicken that was full of connective tissue and cartilage. The table was sticky and there was food debris on the floor (we were there right after opening for dinner). I am devastated, since this was my all-time favorite restaurant. The service was about average (had to keep asking for drink refills). But the food has taken a nosedive in quality. I hope Charlie Phan turns it around!-COLLAPSE
Last time I was there, there was only ONE item on the menu that was vegetarian. Broccoli with Tofu. Very boring. Everything else was filled with meat and fish or fish sauce. REPLY (12 Replies)
FWIW, my two colleagues and I ate at SD on 5/18 and very much enjoyed everything we ate, esp. the brick chicken and the tapioca. REPLY (5 Replies)
