Mariebelle is wonderful- for their Cacao Bar and Aztec Hot chocolate . The place itself is magical, like a chocolate fantasia . I had the feeling of having left New York far behind . I would never buy their chocolate - there are much more interesting chocolatiers out there . I would never go for brunch , any more than I'd order steak at an oyster house . However , if you are willing to be transported back to 1950's New York , while having the best hot chocolate ever , if you are wiling to have just that and possibly some petit fours - this is a special place . It is a timeless slice of old New York, preserved. I believe that if Heloise had ever needed to leave the Palace Hotel- she would have gone to Mariebelle. Put down your expectations and comparisons and fall in love again with the romance of the city.-COLLAPSE
