»Nice not great

3 stars

Over the years Delfina has changed, the staff gets a bit wiffy at times, and sometimes the food can dip, just a bit. But the food is still very good sometimes and it is a hip, happening place with lots of buzz. (by whdmills, created March 28, 2011)

»Great place, but a little bit of an attitude

5 stars

I've been here a number of times. The food is real good - maybe 8 out of 10 times. But when it's good, it's reaaalll good - hence the 5 stars. The real issue is the service and attitudes from the servers and hostesses. Whatever, maybe one day someone will put them in their place. (by pirr909, created January 23, 2010)

»Delfina Report: Great anniversary dinner

Due to budget constraints, we rarely eat out anymore, and when we do, never at places as nice as Delfina, so it was a big splurge for us (anniversary dinner) and I'm happy to say it was absolutely the right choice. The food was delicious and in many cases novel/exciting, and the service was great- totally on the ball and relaxing at the same time. If we could afford to, and now that we've been i know that we definitely cannot, we'd eat there again and again. Happily, though, there were a few preparations/flavor combinations that were so surprising and so good that it made me want to try to replicate them at home, which, if i could, would allow me to pretend that i'm eating there more often!

They were:
- jewish style artichokes, basically artichokes peeled back to only the tender leaves, then fried so that the leaves were like crunchy, salty fries, and the heart was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, very salty and lemony, totally delicious.
- mint tagliatelli with porcini mushrooms- i'd never had mint with pasta before and it was really incredible, maybe even my favorite thing i tried- super delicious and fresh, but also rich and luscious.

We also had the
- paparadelle with duck sugo- super flavorful sauce, very delicious.
- grilled calamari appetizer- served on a bed of white beans- great
- campo salad- totally delicious, though in my mind didn't stand out enough to waste a whole choice on, next time i'll pick something more distinct to them.
- bread & butter - worth mentioning because it's really so good, and i ate A LOT of it
- pannacotta- just as incredible as everyone here said it would be
- profiteroles with espresso ice cream and candied almonds and chocolate sauce- also incredibly delicious, and huge portion, and very very intense espresso flavor.-COLLAPSE
