The chef, Omar Djebbouri, was the founding chef at Sound Bites when Julia Sati created the business in the early '90s. Omar stayed with the restaurant through a change of ownership and a move to a larger space next door, until he joined Mike Moccia in founding Ball Square Cafe in his former space.
Mike Moccia, Omar’s partner, is the son of the owners of Victor’s Deli, where he learned the trade in his family business.
