Named for the Afghan river that winds through the country, Helmand Palace moved to the North Beach location after a landslide closed the original North Beach location.
Though the prices are low, the dining room with cloth napkins and white tablecloths is atrractive.

The vegetarian-friendly restaurant dedicates an entire section of the menu to non-meat dishes. A signature dish is the kaddo, baked baby pumpkin.
