Summer Shack Recipe

Summer Shack
Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: 5 mins | Makes: 12 servings

Admittedly a little girly, this chic wine cocktail is the perfect pitcher drink for a bridal shower, pool party, or lazy picnic. Light Sauvignon Blanc is fortified with Lillet Blanc and a touch of herbal gin and floral elderflower liqueur.

What to buy:
St-Germain is an elderflower liqueur that can be found at high-end liquor stores and online.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 (750-milliliter) bottle Sauvignon Blanc, chilled
  • 8 ounces gin, chilled
  • 8 ounces Lillet Blanc, chilled
  • 4 ounces elderflower liqueur, such as St-Germain, chilled
  • 12 dashes Orange Bitters
  • 12 lemon twists, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Place all of the ingredients except the lemon twists in a large pitcher and stir to combine. Serve in chilled wineglasses garnished with a lemon twist. Alternatively, mix all of the ingredients in a punch bowl, add a large block of ice, and serve in a wineglass garnished with a lemon twist.

  • It is "girly" because of the Sav/Blanc, Elderflower liquour, lillet blanc. Manly might be Scotch, perhaps Bourbon ?

  • What exactly makes this "feminine" and "girly"? It's 5 kinds of alcohol - I guess straight booze with no mixer is something men can't handle.
