The Original Corpse Reviver #2 Recipe

Refreshing and herbaceous, this cocktail will bring you back to life.
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 ounce Cointreau (triple sec can be substituted)
- 3/4 ounce gin
- 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3/4 ounce Lillet Blanc
- Dash absinthe or Pernod
- Ice
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place a cocktail glass in the freezer to chill.
- Place the Cointreau, gin, lemon juice, Lillet, and absinthe or Pernod in a cocktail shaker and fill it halfway with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted. Strain into the chilled glass.
@Swamp Lady - the Green Faery is alive and well in the U.S. as of 2007. I recommend St. George out of (of all places) California.
Just tried it..if you can't get to St Maartin to buy legal absinthe use sweet vermouth instead of Lillet Blanc to take some of the fruityness out.
It's great with "real" absinthe. Yes, it is illegal to buy here in the US but, if you buy it where it is legal you can bring it into the US. Maybe the insanity came from the fact opium was taken with absinthe. Anyway, it's not as fruity with real absinthe.
I haven't had this with absinthe, but as a fan of Gin and Tonics, I find this recipe to be too fruity.
