Double Chocolate Cookies Recipe

Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: 2 hours | Active Time: | Makes: about 9 dozen

These very chocolatey, chewy cookies are a favorite with my young nephews and nieces. When they come to visit we make them together and they have so much fun, just make sure you use an over-sized bowl so the ingredients don’t go flying, the boys seem to be overly enthusiastic about stirring. LOL

INGREDIENTS
  • 1-1/4 cups butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cups baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
  1. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 F. for 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks. Yield: about 9 dozen.
