Vanilla Recipe

Homemade vanilla. If you do a lot of baking this is a lot cheaper, and can be kept for years. Equal in taste to premium vanilla that can cost a lot of money if you do a lot of baking. Just leave the vanilla beans in the bottle, you don’t need to take them out. After 6 weeks you have beautiful fragrant vanilla that will last years. I read where Ina Garten has a bottle on her shelf she has had for years. I have been using this form of vanilla for 22 yrs. Buy the vanilla in bulk online.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 bottle vodka, any size.
  • 3-5 vanilla beans.
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Split open 3-5 vanilla beans. Do not remove anything from the pod.
  2. Place the whole pod in a bottle of vodka.
  3. Shake once a week for 6 weeks. You do not need to strain.
