American Hummus Recipe

American Hummus
This is an amazing dip that you will have to make to believe. A friend of mine passed this recipe to me years ago, and I have since never met anyone who has made it this way.

For American Hummus, you will NOT need Tahini. This recipe is sweetened by the unique flavor of Balsamic Vinegar. Try it, it’s simple, and addictive!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Can Garbanzo Beans (Drained mostly)
  • 2 T. Minced Garlic (or to taste)
  • 1/4 C. chopped parsley
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Pita Bread
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Blend all ingredients together in a food processor, adding olive oil and balsamic vinegar to taste.
  2. Chill while warming the olive oil basted pita bread. Serve as a dip with the warm, sliced pita bread.

  • I love that this doesn't have Tahini. I never have Tahini on hand but generally have all of the other ingredients.
