Banana Pudding – Cool, creamy and comforting. Sweetened condensed milk makes this an extra special treat!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 (6-oz) pkg instant vanilla pudding
- 3 c milk
- 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 large Cool Whip, thawed
- 1 t. vanilla extract
- 6 bananas, sliced
- 1 box vanilla wafers
INSTRUCTIONS
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the first 5 ingredients until smooth and well blended.
- Fold in bananas and cookies.
- Pour into a large serving bowl, cover and chill until ready to serve. I like to make this the day before and let it chill in the refrigerator overnight. The flavors taste much better and the cookies soften ~ just the way I like ’em!

My mom-in-law, who is from the South, was visiting and to keep her busy I had her make a banana pudding. We did use Jell-O vanilla "cook pudding", Pepperidge Farm Chessman cookies, and 3 banana's. She just cut up the bananas put them and the cookies in the bottom of the pan, then dumped in the pudding saying, "this is how it's done in the South". I like to layer my pudding, and I usually make my pudding from scratch, and my cookies from scratch, substituting some whole wheat flour, http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Vanilla-Wafers-II/Detail.aspx , and flatten the cookies with a glass. I decorate the top with whip cream.-COLLAPSE
Who found this recipe in the time machine? It's not often you see such blatantly gross ingredients all in one recipe. I'm surprised at the addition of real vanilla and bananas, surely you could have found a super-sweet substitution!
