Sausage Gravy Recipe

Sausage Gravy & Biscuits – Comforting, creamy sausage gravy and biscuits. A great way to start the morning!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 lb. breakfast sausage
  • 1/2 c. onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 T. butter
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 c. whole milk
  • 1/2 t. salt, to taste
  • 2 t. coarse black pepper, to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until sausage is no longer pink. Add onions and continue to cook until the onion is translucent.
  2. Add butter and stir until melted. Stir in flour and garlic, saute for about a minute.
  3. Gradually stir in milk; bring to a low boil and cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper, to taste. Serve over split biscuits.
