Granola Cookie Bars Recipe

I was looking for a bar that was easy to transport,healthy and still tasted good.The kids love these,they are great to take to the park,on a picnic or hiking in the woods.I usually have them on hand for an after-school treat.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup butter,softened
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 4 cups old-fashioned oats ( I also have used instant)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup raisins
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. In a mixing bowl,cream butter and sugars.Add eggs,one at a time,beating well after each.Beat in vanilla and water.Combine oats,flour and salt;gradually add to the creamed mixture.Stir in chocolate chips,coconut and raisins.
  2. Press into a greased 15-in.×10-in.×1-in. baking pan.Bake at 350 degrees F. for 22-27 minutes or until golden brown.Cool on a wire rack.Cut into bars.
