Crispy Kale Treats Recipe

Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: 20 minutes | Active Time: | Makes: 3-4 cups

I needed to eat more greens and knowing kale is a great source of many vitamins, etc., I found this to be a great snack or a topping on salads. The taste is unexpected and it is extremely simple to prepare. My husband and daughter love it….so will you.

Cut out the center spine of each kale leaf. Cut the ribbon edges in large bite sized pieces. Toss with 3-5 tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes or until crispy looking. Great for a snack, instead of potato chips and lovely sprinkled over salads but don’t let it get soggy with dressing.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 bunch of kale
  • 3-6 Tablespoons olive oil
  • sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Wash kale. Shake out excess water.
  2. In a large bowl, toss with oil and sea salt.
  3. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 5-10 minutes, until crispy. Store in an air tight container.

  • I just made these but added 1 tablespoon of cider vinegar, they were delicious! the first time i've managed to eat an entire bunch of kale.

  • Well this kale preparation sounds great. I make a healthful soup with kale as one of the star ingredients (my customers love it).
Thank you for something new to do with kale.
