The Capitol Cherry Fizz Recipe
I love the flavor of tart-sweet dried cherries in autumn. When was invited to showcase my book The Bubbly Bar and make a cocktail at Tour de Champagne in Washington DC, I decided to create a seasonal sparkling cocktail that was a tribute to the city’s iconic cherry trees.
- 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering liqueur
- 1/2 ounce cognac
- 4 ounces brut champagne or sparkling wine, chilled
- brandy-soaked or Italian marasca cherry, for garnish
- Add the Cherry Heering liqueur and cognac to a champagne flute.
- Top with the chilled brut sparkling wine or champagne.
- Drop a brandy soaked or Italian marasca cherry in the glass and serve.
