Dark chocolate frosting Recipe
My cousin loves chocolate, so i made a chocolate layer cake. I wanted to do something different with frosting… regular chocolate was too boring for me. so i used dark chocolate instead!
- 2 bars dark chocolate (not hersey's), melted
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, separated
- 1 cup powdered sugar, plus more
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- Mix melted chocolate, butter, and 1 c. powdered sugar in a large bowl until well blended, about 1 minute
- add vanilla and buttermilk until added
- keep adding powdered sugar until desired consistency/taste, I took about 5 minutes or so. blend well after each addition
