Right On Croutons Recipe
Croutons are unbelievably simple to make. It’s a shame so many people just shake a box of them over their salads. The home-made ones always taste better, you can customize their shape and they don’t take that long to make!
Consider changing the seasoning to match your meal, or your salad.
- Leftover baguette
- Olive Oil to coat (Light or Extra Virgin)
- Dried Herbs (Oregano or Basil work best, avoid Terragon)
- Parmesan Cheese
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
- Cut up stale baguette into pieces no larger than 1″×1″×1″. Place in a bowl.
- Sprinkle enough olive oil over croutons to lightly coat (not soak).
- Add herbs, cheese, salt & pepper in small amounts and toss to coat each piece. Taste a couple and adjust as you please.
- Dump croutons onto a baking tray and space them out evenly. Place in oven for 10 minutes.
- Try to flip all the pieces over (not a big deal if you can’t) then place in the oven for another 10 minutes.
